Goodbye Godwin Ave.

Leaving Grand Rapids, MI meant leaving behind our dear family, friends and neighbors. God has blessed us with many people in our lives whom we love and from whom we have received love. And that is what made the decision to follow God's call to Fonda difficult.

We are so grateful for the many years of friendship and community we have shared with all our loved ones in MI. And we look forward to building more memories when we come to visit, or when we have the chance to welcome you to our NY home.

We were sent off in style by our Godwin Ave. neighbors on the Tuesday prior to leaving. Thank you especially to Ruth and Kate for hosting such a sweet goodbye party for us. Solomon and Lydia were so lucky to have spent so many years with such great neighborhood playmates. And I was so blessed to have spent 5 years next door to Ruth's front porch. I can't imagine a better way to spend a late summer afternoon than to sit on Ruth's porch with a cup of tea, trying to influence the world one child, one politician, one book or one shred of juicy gossip at a time. Thanks Ruth, for all the fine conversations and for supplying better tea than my cabinet usually held.  I'll let you know when I'm rolling into GR, so we can all meet again on the porch.

Here are some pictures of the beautiful neighbors we will miss.
